Preparation
- Pat your chicken thighs or breasts dry with paper towels to ensure that they become crispy as they cook.
- In a bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, olive oil, salt, and pepper to make the marinade.
- Place the chicken in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Cover and let it sit for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Cooking
- Heat up a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated chicken. Cook for 7-8 minutes on each side until the chicken is golden brown and fully cooked through.
- After cooking the chicken, lower the heat slightly and pour any leftover marinade into the pan. Let it simmer for a few minutes to thicken and develop richer flavor.
- Return the chicken to the pan, spoon some sauce over it, and sprinkle with sliced green onions before serving hot.
Notes
For a healthier alternative, consider using low-sodium soy sauce or agave syrup instead of honey. Avoid overcooking the chicken for a juicy texture. Allow the chicken to rest after cooking for the best results. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
