Ingredients
  

  • **For the Wontons:**
  • - 1 lb ground pork or chicken
  • - 2 green onions finely chopped
  • - 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • - 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • - 1 tsp minced garlic
  • - 1 tsp grated ginger
  • - ½ tsp white pepper optional
  • - 30-40 wonton wrappers
  • **For the Broth:**
  • - 8 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • - 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • - 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • - 1 tsp grated ginger
  • - 2 garlic cloves minced
  • - 2 green onions sliced
  • - 1 cup sliced bok choy or spinach optional
  • - Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • **Prepare the Wontons:**
  • - In a mixing bowl, combine ground meat, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and white pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • - Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Add 1 teaspoon of filling to the center.
  • - Wet the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it into a triangle, and press the edges to seal. Bring the two bottom corners together and seal with a dab of water. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  • **Make the Broth:**
  • - In a large pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add ginger and garlic, sautéing until fragrant (1-2 minutes).
  • - Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth. Stir in soy sauce and bring to a simmer.
  • **Cook the Wontons:**
  • - Gently drop the wontons into the simmering broth. Cook for 4-5 minutes, or until the wontons float to the surface and the filling is cooked through.
  • - Add bok choy or spinach (if using) and simmer for an additional 1-2 minutes.
