Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup fresh watermelon juice (about 1/4 of a medium watermelon) Make sure to strain the juice to remove pulp.
  • 2 tablespoons gelatin (ensure it’s Halal-certified) Use Halal-certified gelatin for compliance.
  • 2 tablespoons sweetener (use sugar or honey) Honey will add a unique taste.
  • 1 teaspoon citric acid (optional) Adds a tangy kick if desired.

Method

Preparation
  1. Cut the watermelon into pieces and blend it until smooth. Strain the juice through a fine mesh sieve to remove any pulp. You’ll need about 1 cup of clean juice.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the watermelon juice and sweetener. Gently heat it over low-medium heat until warmed through, but not boiling.
  3. Sprinkle the gelatin over the watermelon juice mixture and stir gently until fully dissolved. If you’re using citric acid, mix it in at this point for that extra zing.
  4. Pour the mixture into silicone molds for gummies, filling each cavity. If you don’t have molds, you can pour the liquid onto a parchment-lined baking dish.
  5. Refrigerate the molds for about 2-4 hours, or until the gummies are set and firm to the touch.
  6. Once firm, pop the gummies out and store them in an airtight container.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. You can also freeze them for up to three months. No need to reheat, just enjoy directly!
