  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (cut into pieces)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt (more for garnish if desired)

  1. Start by measuring out all your ingredients so that they’re ready to go.
  2. In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, add the cup of granulated sugar. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon or spatula.
  3. Allow the sugar to continue cooking until it reaches a deep amber color, stirring constantly for about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Once the sugar has melted and is slightly darkened, carefully add the butter. Stir until the butter is completely melted.
  5. Slowly add the heavy cream, continuing to stir until smooth.
  6. Finally, stir in the sea salt. Taste and adjust the salt according to your preference.
  7. Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool to room temperature. Transfer it to a jar and store in the refrigerator.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks. Reheat in the microwave for 20-30 seconds or until warm and pourable.
