Preparation
- Start by measuring out all your ingredients so that they’re ready to go.
- In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, add the cup of granulated sugar. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon or spatula.
- Allow the sugar to continue cooking until it reaches a deep amber color, stirring constantly for about 5-7 minutes.
- Once the sugar has melted and is slightly darkened, carefully add the butter. Stir until the butter is completely melted.
- Slowly add the heavy cream, continuing to stir until smooth.
- Finally, stir in the sea salt. Taste and adjust the salt according to your preference.
- Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool to room temperature. Transfer it to a jar and store in the refrigerator.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks. Reheat in the microwave for 20-30 seconds or until warm and pourable.
