Preparation of Cheese Sauce
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Once melted, add the flour and whisk together for about a minute until it forms a smooth, bubbly mixture.
- Gradually add the milk, whisking continuously until smooth. Keep stirring until the mixture thickens slightly.
- Reduce the heat to low, and slowly stir in the cheddar cheese. Keep mixing until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is creamy.
- Add the garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and salt. Stir well to combine all the flavors.
- Serve warm alongside crunchy tortilla chips or drizzle it over your nacho creations.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on low heat with a splash of milk to restore creaminess.
