Ingredients

For the stir fry
  • 1 lb Chicken Breast, thinly sliced Use Halal-certified chicken
  • 2 cups Mushrooms, sliced (button or shiitake work well)
  • ΒΌ cup Soy Sauce Ensure it's Halal-certified
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup Bell Peppers, sliced (any color)
  • 1 medium Onion, sliced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Gather and measure all ingredients, ensuring the chicken is thinly sliced for quick cooking. Slice the vegetables and set everything aside in bowls for easy access.
  2. In a bowl, combine sliced chicken, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Let it marinate for at least 10-15 minutes.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Make sure the oil is hot enough before adding the chicken.
  2. Add the marinated chicken to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked and no longer pink. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are just tender but still vibrant in color.
  4. Once the vegetables are cooked, return the chicken to the skillet. Toss everything together, season with salt and pepper to taste, and stir-fry for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and serve your Homemade Mushroom Chicken Stir Fry hot over rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.

Notes

Feel free to swap chicken breast for halal tofu or beef. Ensure all ingredients are prepped before cooking for a seamless experience. Avoid overcrowding the skillet while cooking.
