Ingredients
  

For the pizza base
  • 1 crust 1 pre-made pizza crust (store-bought or homemade)
For the toppings
  • 15 oz 1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained Any preferred bean can be used.
  • 1 cup 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
  • 1 cup 1 cup salsa (your favorite brand or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1 small 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small 1 small bell pepper, diced (any color you prefer)
  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin For added flavor.
  • to taste Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
  • to taste Avocado slices for serving (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the black beans and half of the salsa.
  3. Spread the black bean mixture evenly over the pizza crust.
Topping
  1. Sprinkle cheese over the beans, then layer on diced tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, and olives.
  2. Drizzle the remaining salsa on top.
  3. Sprinkle ground cumin over the toppings.
Baking
  1. Place your pizza on a baking sheet and bake for about 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
Serving
  1. Add cilantro and avocado slices if desired.
  2. Let it cool, slice into wedges, and serve hot.

Notes

Substitutions can include pinto or refried beans, and plant-based cheese for dairy-free options. Ensure toppings are well-drained to avoid soggy pizza. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze slices for up to 2 months.
