Ingredients

Meatball Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef Use a mix of lean and fatty beef for best flavor
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Use whole wheat for a healthier option
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley Fresh parsley gives best flavor
  • 1/4 cup minced onion Can substitute with green onions if preferred
  • 1 clove garlic, minced Adjust based on personal preference
  • 1 egg Acts as a binder for the meatballs
  • Salt and pepper to taste Season to personal preference
For Serving
  • 1 jar marinara sauce Use your favorite brand or homemade

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, minced onion, garlic, and egg. Season with salt and pepper. Use your hands to mix until all ingredients are well incorporated—be careful not to overmix.
Shaping and Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). With your hands, take a small portion of the mixture and roll it into a ball about the size of a golf ball. Place formed meatballs on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  2. Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and browned on the outside.
Simmering
  1. In a pot, warm your marinara sauce over medium heat. Once the meatballs are ready, add them to the sauce and let them simmer for another 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
Serving
  1. Serve the meatballs with your choice of pasta, on a sandwich, or with a side salad.

Notes

Store leftover meatballs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat by thawing and warming in the microwave or in a pot with marinara sauce on low heat.
