Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each piece of chicken breast in the beaten egg, allowing any excess to drip off before placing it in the breadcrumb mixture. Ensure each piece is well coated.
- Line the coated chicken pieces on the prepared baking sheet, leaving enough space between each nugget.
- Lightly spray the nuggets with cooking spray or drizzle with olive oil. Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and cooked through.
- Once cooked, remove from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
For gluten-free options, use almond flour or gluten-free breadcrumbs. Nutritional yeast can replace Parmesan for a dairy-free version. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
