  • 1 cup heavy cream (or a dairy-free alternative)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Preparation
  1. Start by boiling salted water in a large pot. Add the orzo and cook according to the package directions until al dente (usually around 8-10 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onions and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they become translucent. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for about 6-8 minutes, until the turkey is no longer pink.
  4. Stir in the chopped spinach and cook until wilted, which should only take about 2-3 minutes. Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
  5. Lower the heat and mix in the heavy cream, letting it simmer for a couple of minutes to thicken. Finally, add the cooked orzo and stir well to combine.
