Homemade Dubai Chocolate Bars with Pistachio & Kataifi

Ingredients
  

For the chocolate bars
  • 1 cup dark chocolate (chopped or chips)
  • 1 cup chopped pistachios toasted for enhanced flavor
  • 2 cups cooked kataifi thawed if frozen
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter for toasting kataifi
  • 1 tablespoon honey optional for additional sweetness
  • a pinch salt
For preparation
  • as needed cooking spray or parchment paper for easy removal from the pan

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread the kataifi on a baking sheet, drizzle with melted butter, and bake for 10-15 minutes until golden and crispy.
Making the Bars
  1. Melt the dark chocolate in a saucepan over low heat while stirring continuously. Mix in the pinch of salt and honey if desired.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the toasted kataifi and chopped pistachios.
  3. Pour the melted chocolate over the mixture and stir until everything is evenly coated.
  4. Line a rectangular pan with parchment paper and pour the mixture into it, pressing down firmly.
  5. Let the bars cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least an hour to firm up.
Serving
  1. Once set, remove from the pan, slice into bars, and serve with a drizzle of melted chocolate on top.

Notes

These chocolate bars can be served with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, Arabic coffee, or mint tea. They can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
