Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a medium bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until fluffy. Add the flour and mix until combined.
- Evenly spread the crust mixture into the prepared pan, pressing down firmly to create a solid base.
Filling
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs and vanilla extract together. Mix in the chocolate chips (or your choice of filling), baking powder, and salt.
- Pour the filling over the crust and spread it evenly.
Baking
- Place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until lightly golden and cooked through.
- Allow to cool before slicing into squares.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze individual pieces tightly wrapped for up to a month. Reheat briefly in the microwave for best results.
