Main Ingredients
  • 3 pieces ripe bananas Make sure they are very ripe for the best flavor.
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 0.5 cups cocoa powder
  • 1 cup protein powder Any type of your choice.
  • 0.5 cups honey or maple syrup Choose based on your preference.
  • 0.25 cups unsweetened applesauce Can be substituted with yogurt.
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cups chocolate chips Optional for added chocolate flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Add in the honey (or maple syrup), applesauce, and eggs to the mashed bananas and combine until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, protein powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. If desired, fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper, then pour the batter into the prepared pan.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cooling
  1. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  2. Slice, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or wrap tightly in plastic wrap and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature or microwave for 20-30 seconds before serving.
