Preparation
- In a medium-sized pot, bring the 4 cups of water to a rolling boil.
- Once the water is boiling, add ½ cup of dried hibiscus petals.
- Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- After simmering, remove the pot from heat and add honey or sugar to taste.
- Pour the tea through a fine mesh strainer to separate the hibiscus flowers from the liquid.
- Serve hot or chill it for a refreshing iced treat.
- For an extra touch, garnish with a slice of lemon or a sprig of mint.
Notes
Hibiscus Tea can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 5 days. For longer storage, freeze in ice cube trays. Reheat gently without boiling to preserve flavor.
