Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef along with the chopped onion and bell pepper until the beef is no longer pink and the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, mustard, and season with salt and pepper. Let this mixture simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spread the beef mixture evenly. Top it off with the tater tots, arranging them to cover the beef mixture completely.
- Place the casserole in the oven and bake for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, remove it from the oven, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top, and return it to the oven for another 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Once out of the oven, let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
