Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Chop the cabbage into pieces and boil in salted water for about 5 minutes until slightly tender. Drain and set aside.
- Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Add chopped onion and garlic, and cook until the onions are translucent.
Assembly and Cooking
- Combine the cooked meat mixture with rice, tomato sauce, and diced tomatoes in a large bowl. Season with paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Layer the bottom of a greased casserole dish with a portion of the cabbage.
- Spread the meat mixture over the cabbage layer, followed by the remaining cabbage on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your cozy meal!
