  • 1/2 cup grated carrots Adds moisture and sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion Enhances flavor.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds aromatic flavor.
  • 1/3 cup ketchup (plus extra for glaze) For flavor and glazing.
  • 1 large egg Acts as a binding agent.
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce Enhances savory flavor.
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning Adds herbal flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, oats, grated carrots, chopped onion, minced garlic, ketchup, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Mix everything together until combined, without over-mixing.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or in a loaf pan.
  5. Spread a thin layer of ketchup on top for a sweet and tangy glaze.
Cooking
  1. Place the loaf in the oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  2. Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
  3. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, then serve warm.

Notes

Keep the meatloaf moist by not overcooking it. Use a kitchen thermometer to ensure it reaches the perfect internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
