Preparation
- Peel and cube the potatoes into medium-sized pieces.
- Place the cubed potatoes into a large pot, cover with water, and add a pinch of salt.
- Boil over medium heat until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add butter, milk, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.
- Lightly grease a skull mold or any fun mold, then scoop the mashed potatoes into the mold.
- Press gently to ensure the skulls hold their shape.
- Place molds in the refrigerator for about 10-15 minutes to set.
- Carefully remove the potato skulls and serve on a platter, decorating with optional toppings.
Notes
For a twist, add garlic or cheese to the mashed potatoes. Use a potato ricer for ultra-smooth texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheat with a splash of milk or butter.
