Preparation
- Start by draining and rinsing the fresh mozzarella balls. Pat them dry with a paper towel to ensure they’re not too watery.
- Slice each black olive in half and set aside. You’ll need one half for each mozzarella ball.
- If you want to add a ghostly green tint, place a few drops of green food coloring onto a plate. You can lightly dip or roll the mozzarella balls in the food coloring.
- Take a mozzarella ball and insert the halved black olive into the center to create the “pupil.” Use a toothpick to secure the olive if needed.
- Continue this process until all mozzarella balls are transformed into eyeballs. Place them on a serving plate, and you’re done!
Notes
Best served with festive dishes like beet salad or pumpkin soup. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
