Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound Pizza Dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • ½ cup Pesto Sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup Fresh Mozzarella Cheese, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh Basil Leaves, a handful, for garnishing
  • 1 cup Tomatoes, sliced (optional) For extra freshness

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out your pizza dough into your preferred shape, aiming for about ¼ inch thick.
  3. Carefully place your dough directly on the grill grates and grill for about 3-4 minutes until you see grill marks and the bottom is slightly browned.
  4. Using tongs, flip the dough over, brush the grilled side with olive oil, and season with salt.
  5. Spread the pesto sauce evenly over the grilled side and top with sliced mozzarella and optional tomato slices.
  6. Close the grill lid and cook for another 3-5 minutes until the cheese is thoroughly melted.
  7. Remove from the grill, sprinkle with fresh basil, slice, and enjoy!

Notes

For a healthier twist, consider using whole wheat or gluten-free dough. Keep an eye on the dough while grilling to avoid overcooking. Let the pizza sit briefly before slicing to let toppings set. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days and reheat on the grill or in an oven to maintain crispiness.
