Preparation
- Start by laying out your 2 slices of bread and 2 slices of your favorite cheese.
- Generously spread butter or margarine on one side of each slice of bread.
Cooking
- Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, on a hot skillet over medium heat.
- Layer your cheese on top, and finish with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
- Grill for 2-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and cheese begins to melt.
- Carefully flip the sandwich over using a spatula and grill for another 2-4 minutes until both sides are perfectly crispy.
Serving
- Once both sides are golden and the cheese is melted, remove the sandwich from the skillet.
- Let it cool for a minute, then slice and serve alongside your favorite soup or garnish as desired!
Notes
If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days or wrap tightly for freezing up to a month. Reheat in a skillet or air fryer for best results.
