  • 2 slices slices of bread (your choice: whole wheat, sourdough, or white bread)
  • 2 slices slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or any cheese you prefer) Choose cheese varieties that melt well
  • to taste Butter or margarine (for grilling) Ensure it's soft enough to spread easily

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by laying out your 2 slices of bread and 2 slices of your favorite cheese.
  2. Generously spread butter or margarine on one side of each slice of bread.
Cooking
  1. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, on a hot skillet over medium heat.
  2. Layer your cheese on top, and finish with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
  3. Grill for 2-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and cheese begins to melt.
  4. Carefully flip the sandwich over using a spatula and grill for another 2-4 minutes until both sides are perfectly crispy.
Serving
  1. Once both sides are golden and the cheese is melted, remove the sandwich from the skillet.
  2. Let it cool for a minute, then slice and serve alongside your favorite soup or garnish as desired!

Notes

If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days or wrap tightly for freezing up to a month. Reheat in a skillet or air fryer for best results.
