Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Plus extra for dusting
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For cooking
  • Optional: herbs or spices for added flavor (e.g., oregano, thyme, garlic powder)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
  2. Gradually add the Greek yogurt to the flour mixture. Use a fork or your hands to mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 2-3 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Cut the dough into four equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball. Flatten each ball slightly with your fingers.
  5. Using a rolling pin, roll each piece into a circle about ¼ inch thick.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add one flatbread at a time. Cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown and puffed up. Repeat with the remaining dough.
Serving
  1. Enjoy your Greek Yogurt Turkish Flatbread warm, drizzled with extra olive oil or alongside your favorite dips!

Notes

For added flavor, consider mixing dried herbs into the dough. If time allows, let the dough rest for 10 minutes after mixing. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for a month.
