Ingredients

Cake Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brewed coffee (cooled)
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix the granulated sugar with the melted butter until creamy. Beat in the eggs, coffee, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Don’t overmix!
  5. Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. While the cake is baking, warm the caramel sauce on the stovetop or in the microwave until it’s pourable.
  3. Let the cake cool for about 10 minutes before drizzling the warm caramel sauce over the top.
Serving
  1. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature, and enjoy the gooey deliciousness!

Notes

Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing. Replace granulated sugar with brown sugar for a deeper flavor. Avoid overbaking to maintain gooiness.
