Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix the granulated sugar with the melted butter until creamy. Beat in the eggs, coffee, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Don’t overmix!
- Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, warm the caramel sauce on the stovetop or in the microwave until it’s pourable.
- Let the cake cool for about 10 minutes before drizzling the warm caramel sauce over the top.
