Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract, ensuring everything is well mixed.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a dough forms. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, ensuring enough space between each cookie.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies. Rotate the baking tray halfway through baking for even results. Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
