Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 250 g halloumi cheese, sliced into thick pieces Slice about 1/2 inch thick for best results.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Chili oil can be used for added heat.
  • Fresh herbs (like rosemary or thyme) for seasoning Add chili flakes for heat if desired.
  • Optional: lemon wedges for serving

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by slicing the halloumi into thick pieces—about 1/2 inch thick works well!
  2. Drizzle the olive oil over the cheese slices, making sure to coat them evenly.
  3. Sprinkle your choice of fresh herbs over the cheese. Optionally, add a pinch of chili flakes for heat.
  4. Set your air fryer to preheat at 190°C (375°F) for a few minutes while you prepare the cheese.
Cooking
  1. Place the seasoned halloumi in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  2. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through for even browning.
Serving
  1. Once golden brown and crispy, take them out and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the air fryer for 3-4 minutes or in a non-stick skillet over low heat. Freezing is possible, but best enjoyed fresh.
