Method
Preparation
- Start by cutting your chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces.
Marinating
- In a mixing bowl, combine the gochujang, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Mix well until smooth.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
Cooking
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated chicken pieces to the pan, spreading them out evenly.
- Allow the chicken to sear without stirring for about 4-5 minutes until it develops a golden-brown crust.
- Stir occasionally and continue to cook for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature should be 165°F or 75°C).
Garnishing and Serving
- Once cooked, remove the pan from heat. Garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
- Serve hot over steamed rice or with stir-fried vegetables.
Notes
For best flavor, avoid crowding the pan while searing. Adjust marinade sweetness/spice to preference. If not using gochujang, a mix of red chili flakes and molasses can be a substitute.
