  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger Grated
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey Or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
For the Fish
  • 4 pieces white fish fillets e.g., tilapia or cod
  • 2 green onions sliced For garnish
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds For garnish
  • 1-2 pieces fresh lemon or lime wedges For serving
  • Salt and pepper To taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, honey (or maple syrup), and sesame oil.
Marination
  1. Place the fish fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the fish, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 10-15 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add a little oil to the pan. Gently add the marinated fish fillets to the skillet.
  2. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Serving
  1. Once cooked, remove the fish from the skillet. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve with lemon or lime wedges.

Notes

For substitutions, try using salmon or trout. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days, or freeze for up to a month. Reheat gently on low heat with a splash of water to keep moist.
