Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour and sugar. Drop in the softened butter, and mix until crumbly.
- Stir in the milk until the mixture comes together into a dough.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and roll out half of the dough into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread the berry jam evenly over half of the rolled-out dough and top with mixed berries, ensuring enough space at the edges to seal the pastry.
- Roll out the remaining dough and place it over the filled half. Pinch the edges together to seal and create a decorative edge with a fork.
- Brush the top with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar. Serve warm and enjoy!

Best enjoyed fresh. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For long-term storage, wrap and freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes or microwave for 30 seconds.
