Ingredients
  

Filling Ingredients
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded Rotisserie chicken works well!
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Allow to sit at room temperature for ease of mixing.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Pastry Ingredients
  • 1 package puff pastry Ensure it’s halal.
  • 1 egg for egg wash (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the cooked chicken, cream cheese, minced garlic, onion powder, parsley, black pepper, and salt until well combined.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into squares, roughly 3-4 inches each.
  4. Place about a tablespoon of the chicken mixture in the center of each pastry square. Fold over to create a triangle and pinch the edges to seal.
  5. If desired, beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the puffs for a golden finish.
Baking
  1. Place the puffs on a parchment-lined baking tray and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Allow the puffs to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm.

Notes

Storage: Refrigerate leftovers for up to three days or freeze for up to two months. Reheat in a preheated oven for best results.
