Preparation
- Rinse the shrimp under cold water if needed and pat them dry. Season with salt and pepper.
- If serving with pasta, cook it according to package instructions and reserve some pasta water before draining.
Cooking
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using), and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are pink and opaque.
- Pour in the white wine (or chicken broth) and lemon juice. Let it simmer for another 2 minutes to allow the flavors to combine and the sauce to slightly reduce.
- If using pasta, add it to the skillet along with a splash of reserved pasta water to create a light sauce. Toss to combine, and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
Notes
For best flavor, use fresh shrimp and a good-quality dry white wine. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
