  • 2 cups broccoli florets Wash and chop into florets.
  • 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed Rinse to remove excess sodium.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Sauté in oil until fragrant.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For sautéing.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce For seasoning.
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil For added flavor.
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning.
  • as needed Cooked rice or quinoa For serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by washing the broccoli and chopping it into florets. Drain and rinse the chickpeas to remove any excess sodium.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds or until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it!
  3. Toss in the broccoli florets. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes, or until they turn bright green and are tender but still crisp.
  4. Add the drained chickpeas to the skillet, followed by the soy sauce and sesame oil. Stir everything together for another 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  5. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper to your liking.
  6. Serve your delicious Garlic Broccoli Stir Fry with cooked rice or quinoa.

Notes

For additional flavor, consider adding a sprinkle of red pepper flakes or a dash of lemon juice. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in a skillet over low heat or microwave.
