Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the sugar until well combined.
- Allow the butter-sugar mixture to cool slightly, then whisk in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Spread half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish, smoothing it out evenly.
- Pour the salted caramel sauce over the brownie layer, spreading it evenly.
- Carefully dollop the remaining brownie batter on top of the caramel layer and gently spread it.
Baking
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan.
- Before serving, sprinkle sea salt flakes on top.
Notes
To maintain fudginess, do not overbake. Customize your caramel to your preference and consider adding chopped nuts for crunch.
