Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar. Whisk until smooth, then add eggs one at a time, whisking until combined. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Slowly incorporate this dry mixture into the wet mixture, stirring until no flour pockets remain.
- Stir in the red food coloring until the batter resembles a rich ruby hue. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Transfer the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
Baking
- Bake in the oven for about 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow brownies to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before cutting into squares. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
Notes
You can substitute unsalted butter with coconut oil or use coconut sugar instead of brown sugar for a healthier option. Keep an eye on baking time to prevent dry brownies.
