Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs At room temperature for better mixing
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
Optional Ingredients
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Add for extra gooiness, optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips, if using.
Baking
  1. Pour the mixture into your prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  2. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven if desired.
