Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease an 8-inch square baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Fold in chocolate chips, if using.
Baking
- Pour the mixture into your prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for about 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling and Serving
- Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes.
- Cut into squares and enjoy!
Notes
Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven if desired.
