Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter (one stick) Melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder High-quality recommended
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Optional, for extra chocolate flavor

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter until fully liquefied.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Stir until well blended. Add in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  4. Gradually sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gently stir until just combined.
  5. If using, fold in the chocolate chips for an extra chocolatey experience.
Baking
  1. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  2. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

To enhance the flavor, use high-quality cocoa and do not overbake to maintain that fudgy texture. Brownies can be topped with ice cream or caramel sauce for even more decadence.
