Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter, then remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  4. Whisk in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. Allow the cookie dough to chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  8. Using a cookie scoop, form dough balls and roll them in powdered sugar until completely coated. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set but the centers remain soft.
