Ingredients
  

For the brownie base
  • 1 cup butter, softened Ensure the butter is softened, not melted.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Feel free to experiment with different types of chips.
For the cookie layer
  • 1 cup cookie dough (pre-made or homemade) Ensure the cookie dough is chilled to prevent spreading.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
Assembly
  1. Spread half of the brownie batter evenly in a greased baking dish.
  2. Place dollops of cookie dough on top of the brownie layer.
  3. Spread the remaining brownie batter over the cookie dough.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the center is set but still fudgy.
  2. Let them cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  3. Once cooled, slice into squares and serve.

Notes

For the best texture, avoid overbaking and experiment with different types of chocolate chips if desired. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, refrigerate for a week, or freeze for 3 months.
