Ingredients

For the cheesecake filling
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Strawberries, diced
For the sandwiches
  • 8 slices Bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1/4 cup Sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon for added flavor
  • Oil (for frying) enough for deep frying

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gently fold in the diced strawberries.
  2. Spread a generous dollop of cheesecake filling onto four slices of bread, then top with the remaining slices to form sandwiches.
  3. In one bowl, beat the eggs and milk together. In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, and cinnamon together.
Frying
  1. Dip each assembled sandwich in the egg mixture, followed by the flour mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.
  2. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Fry each sandwich until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. Remove the sandwiches from the oil and let them drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream or fresh strawberry sauce, and consider pairing with vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat. Tips: Experiment with fruit substitutions, ensure oil is hot for frying, and allow to cool on paper towels to prevent sogginess.
