Ingredients

For the strawberries
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup sugar for macerating the strawberries
For the cream mixture
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese can substitute with softened cream cheese

Method

Preparation
  1. Hull and slice the fresh strawberries, placing them in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle half a cup of sugar over the strawberries and gently toss to combine. Let them sit for about 10-15 minutes to macerate.
Whipping the Cream
  1. In a separate bowl, pour in the heavy cream and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer or whisk, whip the cream until soft peaks form.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Gently fold the mascarpone cheese into the whipped cream using a spatula, ensuring the mix maintains a light, airy texture.
Assemble the Dessert
  1. Layer the macerated strawberries in dessert cups or bowls. Spoon the whipped cream and mascarpone mixture over the strawberries.
Chill and Serve
  1. Place the assembled desserts in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Best enjoyed fresh. Avoid freezing as the cream can become grainy when thawed.
