Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 medium ripe cantaloupe (about 4 cups cubed) Use a perfectly ripened cantaloupe for the best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed, preferably) Can substitute with lime juice for a twist.
  • 10-12 leaves mint leaves (plus more for garnish) Basil can be used as an alternative.
  • 1 cup ice Add more if you want it extra chilled.
  • 1 cup water (optional for a lighter drink) Pour in gradually for desired consistency.
  • to taste sweetener (such as honey or agave, optional) Control sweetness for a diabetic-friendly option.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by washing the cantaloupe thoroughly. Cut it in half, remove the seeds, and scoop out the flesh. Cube the ripe fruit into bite-sized pieces and place them in a blender.
  2. Pour in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and toss in the mint leaves. If you prefer a sweeter beverage, add a drizzle of honey or agave.
  3. Add the ice to the mixture and blend until smooth. Pour in the optional water gradually while blending until your desired texture is reached.
  4. Taste the refresher and adjust sweetness or mint as desired.
  5. Pour the refreshing drink into glasses, leaving room for more ice if desired. Garnish each serving with mint leaves or a slice of cantaloupe.
  6. Enjoy this refreshing drink on a summer day or during family gatherings!

Notes

The refresher is best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Avoid freezing to maintain the texture.
