Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Can be substituted with coconut oil for deeper flavor.
  • 1 cup sugar Can be reduced for less sweetness.
  • 1 large egg Room temperature for best results.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries Gently fold into batter.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and let it slightly cool.
  3. Whisk in sugar until well combined, then add egg and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the fresh blueberries to the brownie batter.
  6. Grease an 8x8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Cut into squares and enjoy.

Notes

For best results, check brownies at the 20-minute mark to avoid overbaking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4-5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
