  • 1 cup Unsalted butter (softened) Use quality butter for the best flavor.
  • ¾ cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon Sea salt Plus more for topping.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Optional for added flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until the mixture is light and creamy.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and sea salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the butter-sugar mixture. Mix until just combined to form a soft dough.
  5. Use a small ice cream scoop or your hands to form balls of dough and place them on your prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  6. Sprinkle a small pinch of sea salt on top of each cookie before baking.
  7. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
