Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add sliced onions and sauté until caramelized and golden brown, about 10 minutes. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with garlic powder.
- Slice the slider rolls in half, placing the bottom halves in a baking dish. Layer the thinly sliced roast beef on top, followed by the caramelized onions and Swiss cheese. Finish with the top halves of the rolls.
- Using a pastry brush, evenly apply the garlic butter mixture over the tops of the rolls.
Baking
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
Finishing Touches
- Meanwhile, heat the beef broth in a saucepan until warm to serve as your dipping sauce.
- Slice the sliders into individual portions, serve with warm au jus, and enjoy!
Notes
For substitutions, Swiss cheese can be swapped for provolone or pepper jack if desired. Keep an eye on the sliders towards the end of baking to avoid over-browning. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or wrap unbaked sliders in plastic wrap and freeze for up to a month.
