  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal Classic cereal used for the treat base.
  • 10 ounces mini marshmallows Can substitute with 4 cups of marshmallow fluff.
  • 3 tablespoons butter Used for melting with marshmallows.
  • 1 drop Green food coloring Adjust amount to achieve desired green color.
  • 1 package Black icing or melted chocolate For decorating the treats.
  • 1 cup Candy eyes Optional for decoration, can substitute with chocolate chips.
  • 1 tablespoon Edible glitter Optional for a magical touch!

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, add in the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until they are completely melted and blended together.
  2. Once the marshmallows are fully melted, remove the pan from heat. Add a few drops of green food coloring and stir until the mixture is evenly colored and consistent.
  3. Gradually add the Rice Krispies cereal to the marshmallow mixture. Stir well until all the cereal is coated with the gooey green goodness.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Press it down evenly using a spatula or your hands.
  5. Allow the mixture to cool completely. Once set, cut them into rectangular pieces.
  6. Using black icing (or melted chocolate), draw monster features like hair and a mouth onto the treats. Place candy eyes to bring these ghoulish creatures to life.
  7. Share your creepy creations at a party or enjoy them as a fun snack anytime!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-5 days. They can be frozen for up to two months. Thaw before serving.
