Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced bell pepper (any color)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or a mix)
  • 2 tablespoons butter for sautéing vegetables
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and bell pepper, sautéing until they become tender (about 5 minutes).
  3. Add the fresh shrimp to the skillet, cooking until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from heat.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, Old Bay seasoning, flour, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture into the skillet with the shrimp and vegetables, stirring until combined. Add in the shredded cheese and mix well.
  5. Place the pie crust into a pie dish. Pour the shrimp mixture into the crust, spreading it evenly.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is set.
  2. Let the pie cool for a few minutes before garnishing with fresh parsley. Slice and serve.

Notes

If fresh shrimp isn’t available, canned shrimp can be used as an alternative. Experiment with different cheeses for a unique flavor. Ensure shrimp are not overcooked to maintain tenderness. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15-20 minutes.
