Dough Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Can substitute with margarine or vegan alternative.
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Can be swapped with nutmeg or cardamom for variation.
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder.
  3. In another bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, milk, and egg. Mix until fully integrated.
  4. Gradually combine the wet mixture with the dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Brush the dough with additional melted butter, then sprinkle the brown sugar and more cinnamon on top.
  7. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut it into equal pieces.
Baking
  1. Place the dough pieces into muffin tins and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and flaky.

  1. Allow the cruffins to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days, or freeze for up to two months. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes to restore flakiness.
