Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a cupcake pan with paper liners or grease it lightly.
Mixing
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Combining
  1. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
  2. Evenly distribute the batter into the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
Baking
  1. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  3. Once cooled, you can decorate with your favorite toppings such as whipped cream, caramel drizzle, or a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or freeze for up to three months. Thaw at room temperature or microwave for a few seconds to enjoy warm.
