Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a cupcake pan with paper liners or grease it lightly.
Mixing
- In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Combining
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
- Evenly distribute the batter into the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
Baking
- Place in the preheated oven and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, you can decorate with your favorite toppings such as whipped cream, caramel drizzle, or a sprinkle of cinnamon.
