Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup milk or a non-dairy alternative
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips optional for extra chocolaty goodness

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking pan by greasing or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, combine the wet ingredients: vegetable oil, milk (or non-dairy alternative), and vanilla extract, stirring until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips if desired.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  2. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling
  1. Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then lift them out to cool completely on a wire rack.
  2. Cut them into squares and enjoy!

Notes

For dairy-free options, substitute milk with almond, soy, or oat milk. Keep an eye on baking time to avoid a dry texture. Allow cooling before slicing for the best chewy texture.
