- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and baking soda. Gently whisk together to ensure even distribution.
- In another large bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth, about 2-3 minutes with a hand mixer on medium speed.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and milk until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter and sugar mix, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing!
- If desired, fold in chocolate chips or colorful sprinkles gently into the dough.
- For an even thicker dough, chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes (optional).
- Scoop out the dough with a spoon and enjoy straight from the bowl!
Notes
For a Halal-friendly version, substitute plant-based butter for unsalted butter. Properly softened butter is key for the best texture. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week in the refrigerator or freeze for up to 3 months.
