For the mojito
  • 10 leaves fresh mint leaves Plus extra for garnish
  • 1 unit lime Cut into wedges
  • 2 tablespoons sugar Adjust to taste

  • 1 cup soda water Or club soda

Method

Preparation
  1. In a sturdy glass, add the fresh mint leaves and lime wedges. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press them together to release the mint oils and lime juice.
  2. Sprinkle the sugar into the glass and give it a light stir to enhance the flavors of the mint and lime.
  3. Gently add the sliced strawberries to the mixture and muddle them just enough to release their juices without turning them into a puree.
  4. Pack the glass with ice cubes, leaving a bit of room at the top.
  5. Top off the glass with soda water. Optionally, add a splash of rum for an extra kick.
  6. Give the cocktail a gentle stir to combine all the flavors. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve immediately.

Notes

This cocktail is best enjoyed fresh. Store components (mint, lime, strawberries, and sugar mixture) in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Mix in fresh soda and ice when ready to enjoy again.
